my friends and i are going to myrtle beach in the next couple months and we want to enjoy the outdoors loll do u know if there are campsite there?
Living in Myrtle Beach, and playing host to family and friends, I have been tasked many times to come up with good activities on a tight budget. With this experience I give the following advice.
1)When making reservations or buying tickets ask for any discounts or deals. Many of these will be unadvertised and change regularly.
2)Always let the ticket seller know if you are active or retired military, a senior citizen, a local resident, a AAA member, a teacher, etc.
3)If you plan to do an activity multiple times ask about a season pass. For ex: several of the area miniature golf courses are owned by the same company. If you play 10 rounds on these courses over your stay a season pass will save you $3.00 per round.
4)Residents can get a state park vehicle pass at the local library for $30.00. This is good for one year from the purchase date for unlimited entry to all of the South Carolina State Parks.
5)There are 4 different coupon books for attractions throughout the area. These are free and available at the tourist info centers and free stands outside many area stores.
The Myrtle Beach Herald weekly newspaper is running a list of free activities and events throughout the summer. “Free Fun” is updated and changes each week.

There are three campground and two state parks for camping and recreation.

Huntington Beach State Park and Myrtle Beach State Park

Huntington Beach is farther south of the down town area than Myrtle Beach State Park. I have Heard Huntington is much quieter. I have never stayed overnight at either park. I visit MB state park frequently. All the camp grounds and state parks are on the beach.
Check for discounts at all the parks.
