Campgrounds Denver Co

Where can I see the Perseid meteor showers, near Denver?
Originally I was going to Joshua Tree in my house in Los Angeles, but I'm traveling Denver, CO for business. I will be in Denver Aug. 10 and wants to lead a camp or somthing on the afternoon of the 11th, watch the show from midnight to when the 12th, then home later that day. Where can I go that is not more than 3 hours from Denver, I stay near the airport in Denver.
Matt Evans is a national park and is closed at night. Just about any camp that is quite open, outside the forest and away from city lights will. Search USFS campsites in Arapaho / Clear Creek district. The area is an hour to an hour and a half to I-70 from Denver. Several camps come to mind. Not in the top of Mt Evans, but halfway up, Echo Lake still quite high as it is open and West Chicago Creek. Open and in the shadow of 14 more, the Guanella Pass above Georgetown would be awesome.
