Camp on Lake Michigan?

We're going camping this summer and have not found a good campsite. I am looking for somewhere in Northern Michigan (about of Muskegon Ludington, maybe) thats cheap. It is a recreational park, as they tent. That is 4 girls 14 years of age, besides my mother and aunt. I wish that was on Lake Michigan, so we do not have to drive to get there. Thanx!

Mhari, I was in Ludington State Park (again) this past weekend. Expect http://www.michigandnr.com/parksandtrails/Details.aspx?id=468&type=SPRK most weekends to be booked already here. Get the camera, bicycles, tubes, canoes, fishing equipment, kayaks, etc. There is a river that crosses the park, a lake for swimming, miles of hiking and bicycle, also, Walmart, Kmart, and more available in Ludington. Kayaks are also available for rent in Ludington, near the House of flavors. (look for the command large green fish) Wood in "J" in 116 was $ 3.50, in the park was $ 4.60, but larger pieces. Many of the campsites located on the outside of each camp (especially pines) are good for tents. Those on the west side of Los Pinos back to the sand dunes and 300 meters Lake Michigan. There is also a new section in The Cedars, which is exclusively for tents, no electricity but has access to modern bathrooms. (No I'm sure what the numbers are for sites there are only Possible negative would be that this is right next to a large playground. Sites are $ 16.00 and I think not in the online booking system below. Orchard Beach in Manistee is also right on Lake Michigan, but high bank. This is also available on the website below. Mears (in Pentwater) is almost right on the lake and what I saw was all sand without much shade.
