Like any low freshwater fisherman will tell you, there are few things more exciting for a fisherman that a fish in the explosion of a top water lure. We have all had the experience at one time or another dancing a jitterbug on the glassy surface of a small pond, as the last rays of sun on the horizon installed. So quiet. Then suddenly, a four and a half pounds loudmouth hits so hard that attract flies to twenty feet in the air. You are about to jump out of their boots, but the finish to recover and launch. This time, under wraps the jitterbug and is screaming like crazy as the rod bends.

Fish surface any kind is almost as intense as it gets, but it took a number of years to recognize the potential of this type of fishing referred to salt.

By Of course I have put in my share of Atom poppers and iridescent Rangers hordes of frantic game birds, while fish punished in a school of bait. This fishery is tremendously exciting, too, but differently. Expects to fish – you know the fish are there and you know they are feeding. It's just a question to connect.

Using an area of trying to attract water and finding fish just was not something I spend much time doing. I cast swimming caps, the bait drift until rubber shad swim around the structure, but rarely I put much faith in a higher water supply unless I already knew the fish were there.

All other methods used worked and are working, most of the time.

Then a couple years ago, while on vacation in southern Maine, a place where fish usually comes easy, I found the place barren. None of the tried and true methods that were used in the past even produce a hit single.

After some morning arid, while searching through my bag to try something different I found with water initially Yo Zuri lure similar to the old Zara Spook – not really a Popper, but more of a lure to walk. I thought what the hell and broke my boss.

I think I have only three models before you see the wake of a fish behind the temptation and I knew my luck would change.

The fish which was a blue fish after the first of many that morning surprised me – the holiday into reality and success was quite a show. Many Sometimes the fish rose to the attraction, drawing in this way and that, and it was almost all the way back to me by the time the fish was hooked – that was once yes, the blue he pulled fifty yards from the line at any time.

The scene was repeated many times during that trip. I was never sure why Typical methods used often with great success, just do not, but all fish caught during the holidays I was the victim of a bait surface. Perhaps he had to do with the behavior of bait – many of the friends I have, that the fishing during that same time period reported similar low rates success with most of their catches from surface lures.

Whatever the reason for the success with my Zara Spook – attract the kind of That summer changed my view of the area closures of fishing in the salt. Now regularly used top water plugs when hunting for fish and found to be as effective as any of the other offers I throw out there, sometimes even more.

If you're like me and have been reluctant to fish in the area unless you know that Fish are at the top, give your favorite pop or rattle lure plug a shot – You may be surprised by the success they are to raise the fish – and you can not defeat the action!
