Northern Utah Campgrounds

Camping with minimal elements?
I take my wife camping in the Rocky Mountains in northern Utah, where we live. I have not been camping since 6 years or so ago, but spent almost twice a month for a year with my father. I want to bring such small items as needed and try to bring things we can not survive without it. Things like a propane stove or electronics are what I want to exclude. We will be in a camp that allows small fires, but I'll try to get away from us as possible without being too far from Incase help they need. It was an evening of stay of about 20-24 hours unless she took on Friday address book in what will be a two-night stay. Anyone have ideas about things that are needed in addition to first aid, tents, sleeping bags, and canned food?
Take a hatchet so you do not need to bring extra firewood. Take a deck of cards and a camera. That's about it other then 2 sporkifes to eat with a bit of paper plates so you have to start the fire. Oh, and make trail mix, amazing stuff .. And a small cooler with water and other drinks as desired. And if theres lakes have some extra clothes. In fact, take extra clothes anyway. Pack a pair of clothes per day plus 1 extra. And a sweatshirt even though its supposed to be 110. Mornings and nights can be chilly
