West Chicago Campground

When I lived in the beautiful state of Washington, camping was one of my favorite things. If you have not visited Washington, then you're losing. It has to be one of the states cleaner and more beautiful than I have lived in and then when you add a camping trip in the mix, especially towards the shore, a Washington state camp will be one of the most rewarding experiences you can remember.
Many people live in the central part of Washington or the Seattle area. So, to actually arrive at any good camping areas is only two or three hours away. We lived in Bremerton, which is on the west side of Puget Sound. This gave us access to all sides of the water, and made most of these opportunities.
One place we went was camping along the Pacific Ocean, in Ocean Shores. It was a 3 hour drive for us. But with any disk drive in Washington, the landscape is truly amazing and the driving time is nice and worth worthwhile.
Ocean Shores Washington is there between the Pacific Ocean, North Bay and Grays Harbor. Camping at Ocean City State Park 2 nights. The campsite itself has all the amenities you need, but the best part is just the point of view. We need to see a sunset two nights and the breeze cool ocean made for sleep. And nothing like a cup of coffee first thing in the morning when you can see your breath in the air.
There is also a path leading to a cliff overlooking the ocean. This was a place that landed us in about an hour nap on the second day. It was especially peaceful with the only real sound is the sound of waves crashing on the shore. Man, do not miss that sound.
If you are looking for some camping in the state of Washington definitely recommend looking somewhere along the coast. Hearing the waves at night is something that very likely not be done often to take the opportunity. Ocean Shores is a very nice place for this to happen, but there are others too. You will be very glad you made the trip and the experience of this type of camping.
Most of the Washington State campgrounds reward you with scenic views and peace and quite. And, if you are lucky enough to have a chance to camp along the ocean, do it.
