What a fantastic variety of challenging hiking trails and are waiting in spectacular Whistler. Low short walk to a week of backpacking in the mountains. There are trails for every taste or desire.

This is a nice 3 hour hike, and will not pull away from shopping or golfing in Whistler for long, since it is nearby.

Brandywine falls Provincial Park is the creation and maintenance of the park by local people, to allow access to view Brandywine Falls. As an extra wonderful, there has been a very good pair of paths extending from the park is the site CalCheak Forest Recreation. It is a circular path of 8 km (5 miles).

What are you going to walk over a huge lava bed. This was established thousands of years ago when a volcano erupted in this scope. On the road you will notice that columns of basalt were ejected by the volcano and solidified into grotesque forms.

Nairn Falls are shaped differently. Not through a bed of lava, but solid granite. These falls are a short drive from Whistler and making his way through a very narrow channel. To reach these falls, drive north Whistler 16 km (10 miles) and throw in arriving at Nairn Falls Recreation Area on the right. It's a nice 30 minute walk from the falls.

One of the best outdoor adventures to do is Whistler trails like this. Whistler will have to turn left into the Sea of highway sky number 99 and the drive 13 km (8 miles), where your left is the sign of Brandywine Provincial Park. In turn here and park.

The main trail Brandywine Creek crosses the main falls on the road. Just after the bridge is a trail that goes uphill to the left. That's not where you want to go, as you will the cross-country ski trail. Has some interesting elements to see if you decide to go a little further on that path. Not far you reach the lava lake and you will see some very interesting pieces of lava that resemble cobblestones.

However, go ahead and get to the railroad tracks. Note the sign of Swimming lake and trails CalCheak. Cross the road and see the way for another path called Daisy Lake Whistler. That one is going to the left. Soon you reach the falls. Note the strange rock formations of basalt lava and rocks to the left as you enjoy the walk.

After viewing Brandywine, back to the railroad tracks and reach the signal of CalCheak. Walk a few steps and turn towards the lake swimming. Just before reaching the lake the trail will become apparent. The trail climbs a hill on which you'll see the lake. Here the remains of volcanic activity in fact is evidenced by the songs of shattered basalt columns popping up everywhere.

The trail leads through these basalt columns and broken everywhere. Enjoy the beautiful forest canopy here especially if it's a hot day. Again and again you will see pools of water in both sides of the track in Whistler. Soon reach the railway. Note the sign of McGuire. This is all that remains of a railway station that existed here many years before.

After the tracks and is in the beautiful forest road and soon the sound of the Cheakamus River, already simmering in its path. The next thing you will experience is across the Callaghan Creek suspension bridge. just ahead is the leading forest recreation. The site is accessible from Highway 99 driving 4 km (2.5 miles) from the entrance to Brandywine Park, if you come to Squamish, or you can turn on the old logging road 9 kilometers (5.5 miles) south of Whistler. Of Either way you do be prepared to find lots of holes in this 1.5 km (1 miles) of roads on the site. These roads are not maintained.

The path Whistler back to back parking lot is along the same path. You may want to take the cross country trail back to the lot on the right and go upwards McGuire. The path sterile begins, but soon the tree-shaded deck. The road can be a little wet, if the weather has been heavy. It is generally quite good.
